Tessa Arnzen

Tessa is an 8th grade student at Southampton School District. She began playing the violin in the elementary school's strings program in 2012. Since then, Tessa has participated in various music festivals for numerous years: The Long Island Strings Festival Association, Suffolk County Music Educators' Association, and the Hamptons Music Educators' Association. Tessa has been a member of the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra since 2015. During the Summer she loves to study chamber music in New Hampshire.

In 2017, when the quartet was formed, Tessa expanded her musical interests by becoming the EEYQ violist. She receives violin instruction from Song-A Cho and Viola instruction from the quartet's coach Chris Shaughnessy, both of whom play a vital role in the growth and development of EEYQ.

The chamber music experience began when the quartet originally met in 2014 at The Southampton Strings Festival, directed by Jessica Tortorice. There was a definite appeal to the thought of choosing performance partners. Currently Tessa is participating in her schools orchestra, symphony orchestra, the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra, upcoming music festivals and EEYQ events. For her, the friendship of EEYQ is as important as the music.
